Introduction to the Book of Revelation

The latest video in the St John’s Timeline project is my hour and 20-minute introduction to the Book of Revelation. In it, I explore different chapters of the book, and look at issues arising in our reading, starting with questions of genre (what kind of writing is this?), through history, cultural context, its use of the Old Testament, and issues particular to the book such as its structure and its use of numerology.

You can view it as a visual commentary on my Grove booklets How to Read the Book of Revelation and The Ethics of the Book of Revelation.

The YouTube clip gives the first 25 minutes; the full video is available when you sign up to the Timeline project.
